Vietnam is a blend of natural highlights and cultural diversity that offers an eclectic texture of speedy-paced city life as well as serene seashore and river getaways. It is known for its pivotal role during Vietnam war and French colonial landmarks, inclusive of Notre-Dame cathedral. Few miles out of Ho Chi Minh city are Cu Chi tunnels, that were the hideouts for guerrillas during Vietnam war. Street foods line the city around Ben Thanh market. Mekong Delta runs to the sea, passing the villages and mangrove forests along the way. Hanoi, the capital city, is home to iconic communist leader Ho Chi Minh. With innumerable sights and experiences, it is an ideal place for everyone. War memorial in Hanoi is positioned throughout the Ba Dinh square, across the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and close to Hanoi Fort. Built in a fusion of traditional Vietnamese and modernist architecture, it commemorates all who sacrificed their lives in the war. UNESCO listed Imperial citadel of Thang Long is an exciting relic of Vietnam’s history whereas 15th century built Perfume pagoda is a significant temple complex. Hoan Kiem lake (Turtle lake) is another hangout spot in Hanoi. Meanwhile Dong Xuan market is a fascinating place to visit to see the local trade. Another landmark – Hanoi Opera house exudes Parisian charm from its ivory-toned columns, ornate balustrades and Gothic domes whereas temple of Literature is a temple complex that was originally built on dedication to Chinese sage and scholar Confucius. One can head out to Ba Vi national park, known for its three-peaked mountain along with spectacular scenery and a rich flora/fauna species. On top is 11th century built temple imparting the vistas of countryside and natural warm springs. A number of other locations to visit are Hue, Hai Phong, Nha Trang, Thai Nguyen, Da Nang or so.
