Everest region is a tough, yet gratifying trek that often begins from Lukla through the banks of Dudh koshi river. As we trek across a UNESCO international heritage site – Sagarmatha national park, we reach a mountain town, Namche bazaar, a famous acclimatization spot and commercial hub of native sherpa people. Spending the nights in tea houses of Everest, we push on passing the cliff top monastery in Tengboche, fallen climbers memorial in Dingboche and a small settlement of sherpas. One may spot the expeditions crew placing their camp for an ascent to Mt. Everest (8848m) alongside a surprising view of himalayas, khumbu icefall and khumbu glacier. One could be on Kala patthar at an elevation of 5555m for panoramic vista of astounding Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Cho yu, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and neighboring peaks. We make a return following the same way back to Lukla. Trekkers in Everest region get a fascinating insight into unique Sherpa traditions and their life-style.
